Certify Your Home Recovery Residence with Confidence in Florida

In Florida, it is not mandatory to certify your halfway house. However, it is highly recommended to certify through FARR (Florida Association of Recovery Residences), the state affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR). Certification ensures that your home meets nationally recognized standards for quality and safety, enhances credibility with referral agencies, and opens doors to funding opportunities. By choosing to certify, you demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting residents in their recovery journey.

What is FARR Certification?

The Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR) certification ensures that your recovery residence complies with nationally recognized quality standards. By becoming certified, you demonstrate your commitment to the well-being of your residents while gaining access to essential resources, referral networks, and funding opportunities.

FARR Requirements

01
Interview

we will assist you in completing your application and submitting it to the state. We’ll collect the necessary preliminary information to ensure your application is complete and accurate. This step includes reviewing your preferences and preparing you for the state interview.

02
Background Check

The state will require you to submit a background check as part of the certification process. If you’ve already had a background check completed within the past two years, you may be able to use it, saving time and effort.

03
CRRA

The state will require you to hire a Certified Recovery Residence Administrator (CRRA) as part of the certification process. We’ll help you find and onboard a qualified CRRA to meet this requirement. Additionally, if you’re interested in becoming a CRRA yourself, we offer assistance and guidance to help you obtain your own CRRA credentials.

04
Proof of Insurance

The state mandates that recovery residences carry liability insurance, with both the recovery residence and FARR (Florida Association of Recovery Residences) named as insured parties.
